John Piper

 

John became a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists in 1977 and was made chairman a few years later. He taught painting and drawing for twenty years in Cornish schools and in 1995 left teaching in order to paint full-time. He has exhibited widely for over thirty years with one-man shows in England and abroad. John is profoundly influenced by the Cornish landscape. He paints the moors, cliffs, headlands, fields, coastline, cottages, hedges and boundaries of West Penwith where he lives.
