Heather Bray

Heather is a self-taught Cornish artist, her sensitive paintings are on paper or board in gouache. She paints the essence of a place or location. Her studio is close to the Cornish shoreline and the view it affords is often reflected in her paintings, many of which appear to be painted from a height. As an artist she strives for clarity of form and simplicity. She is an intuitive painter with an innate sense of composition and an obvious joy in the act of painting. Her work is set firmly in the St Ives tradition of naive realism.
