Dawn’s images are inspired by her frequent visits to Cornwall. Recent work has been influenced by views across the estuary, during busy summer days conveying a strong decorative qualities through her use of colour, pattern and composition. Her paintings are bright and busy ‘tapestries’ that portray a love of vibrant colour in acrylic and collage, sometimes layers are scraped away to reveal a rich surface texture of pre-laid colour and pattern. Dawn studied for a textiles Degree at Derbyshire College of Art and an MA in Illustration at Brighton University.
